These four pieces are composed of textures and drones sourced from recordings of electro-acoustic improvisations, integrated with field recordings. The starting point was the four elements of Greek mythology, and the pieces are each based around recordings of one of these elements - respectively fire, earth, water, air. These sound sources have been blended with processed textures derived from recordings of a multi-instrumental improvised performance. In this way, the pieces explore the boundaries between living and non-living materials.
